Publishing and Distribution connections:
Herald Press and Pandora Press U.S. Herald Press, Scottdale, Pennsylvania, has been the denominational publisher for the Mennonite Church for many decades. It has a well-deserved reputation as publisher of high quality Anabaptist-Mennonite books that address issues such as peace and social concerns, a biblical understanding of Christian faith, the mission of the church, and the importance of marriage and family. The publishing missions for Herald Press and Pandora Press, Canada meshed closely, which led evetually to a limited coordination of publication efforts. Most Pandora Press, Canada, titles are now co-published with Herald Press, and carry a joint publication imprint. In order for a book to carry this joint imprint, Herald Press first reviews and approves a Pandora Press manuscript. Pandora Press publications that receive joint imprint approval appear in the Herald Press catalogue and are marketed and sold by Herald Press, as well as directly by Pandora Press, Canada. Pandora Press, U.S. was founded in 1997 by former Herald Press book editor, Michael A. King. Pandora Press, U.S., located in Telford, Pennsylvania, publishes theological, scholarly, and popular books of interest to Anabaptist, Mennonite, Christian, and general readers. As the similarity in name suggests, Pandora Press, Canada provided the model for Pandora Press, U.S. The two "Pandoras" remain independent entities, but they support one another by regular consultation and coordination of publishing, contracting for each other's services, and coordinating distribution, promotion and marketing.
