The Transforming Power of a Century: Mennonite Central Committee and Its Evolution in Ontario by Lucille Marr
The Transforming Power of a Century is a history of the Mennonite Central Committee in Ontario. It outlines the many ways that Ontario Mennonite and Brethren in Christ have demonstrated their commitment to peace and service. MCC Ontario grew and evolved because it was open to the transformation necessary to continue serving "In the Name of Christ." Using oral interviews and archival sources, this history preserves the stories of those who founded MCC in Ontario, and many who were a part of the amazing transformations that saw it evolve throughout the century. To use Ernest J. Swalm's words in his address to the newly formed MCC Ontario in 1967, the author has re-created the events that came together in the "transforming power of a century."
